Mr. Robert E. Brooks, Sr., Tax Advisory Partner.  Mr. Brooks’ professional career spans more than thirty years. Mr. Brooks specializes in the tax advisory coupled with financial consulting needs of businesses of all types, especially professional corporations, commercial enterprises, financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations and self-employed individuals. Mr. Brooks received his Bachelor of Science from De Paul University.  Beginning his career with the Internal Revenue Service as an Internal Revenue Agent, thereafter, he engaged in the practice of public accounting, and specializing in the tax field.  He joined the international public accounting firm, KPMG Peat Marwick for eight years and continued with Coopers & Lybrand, as Senior Manager, for an additional three years.  He has practiced a sole proprietor and partner of another local firm in the Chicago area. 

Mr. Brooks is active in several professional and civic organizations.  He is a member of the Regulation and Legislation Committee of the Illinois CPA Society.  He is Treasurer of the a) Central Michigan Avenue Association of Chicago, b) Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra of South Suburban Chicago, c) Park Forest Community Development Corporation and d) Faith United Protestant Church of Park Forest.  Mr. Brooks is a Board Member of the Dr. Charles E. Gavin Memorial Foundation of Park Forest, Illinois.  On May 16, 2002, Mr. Brooks was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Illinois CPA Society. 

Mr. Brooks was formerly a Chairman and member of the Illinois Board of Examiners in Accountancy (1989-1995), a Vice President and Board member of the Illinois CPA Society (1978-1981) and a member of Council of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (1980-1981).  He has served as President of  Ledger and Quill of De Paul University (1997-1999), Chairman and member of the Board of Fire and Police commissioners of Park Forest, Illinois, a Board member of the United Way/Crusade of Mercy  (1982- 1988) and Treasurer of the United Way of Suburban Chicago (1978-1984).
